Food Waste School

- families reducing food waste together

What is Food Waste School?

Food Waste School is an annual family cooking event developed in collaboration with Arla Foods, the Danish supermarket chain føtex, Too Good To Go, and Arla Fonden.

Since 2020, families across Denmark have come together in school teaching kitchens to explore how everyday cooking can help reduce food waste.

Through hands-on activities, children and adults cook side by side using surplus food while learning about shelf life, taste, meal planning, and how to make better use of food at home. Families are encouraged to experiment with flavours, discover new ingredients, and build confidence in the kitchen together.

The programme inspires practical and sustainable food habits through shared experiences, curiosity, and the joy of cooking together.
